No. I'm very lonely. :o( And Ivy has had to put up with a lot of shit at school. I told her she could just keep her opinions to herself, but I can't help but be proud of her for speaking up anyway (she's been a little one woman fact checker, correcting the kids when they say things like, "Obama is a radical muslim," or "Obama hates white people," or "Obama is a communist".) There was only one other little girl in Ivy's classes who said her parents were voting for Obama. She has a cool social studies teacher, though. He's been open in his criticism of Bush, the war in Iraq, and McCain/Palin.

Glad ya'll are coming for Xmas -- that's the one bright spot, really, in an otherwise tense time of year. Seriously, I see November 1st on the calendar and I start stressing.

Well, if she was a Republican with those ideals I'd understand. But she was for Hillary and a big union supporter, she is one of the ones where race REALLY was a factor.

Oh yea and my sister's problems are that her son is very OCD (already obese and somehow made fatter by the medication?) and her daughter has been diagnosed with bipolar. The are going 4K in debt every quarter with medication. My dad is grumpy about how that family is working out, not what he envisioned.

Holy crap. That's just overwhelming. There are things that could be done about the obesity problem for little/no expense, but the need for expensive medication - I just don't know if there's a solution for that. Your poor Dad - that would be really hard to watch and not be able to do anything.

Anything I could do to help? I wish they lived closer -- the kids would be welcome to come over anytime and ride bikes or walk around the neighborhood with Ivy. You know they're welcome to come visit at Xmas.
